Matthew McDuffee, A.K.A "Duff", comes to the band from Chicago, IL. He began playing guitar at a very young age because his father had a large vintage guitar collection laying around the house. The Grateful Dead, The Doors, Hendrix, The Allman Brothers, and Led Zeppelin were the staples of his musical diet as a child. As a college student he found the freedom to make more noise which lead to the purchase of a drum set; an instrument he had always wanted. Duff spent his college years at Columbia College in Chicago where he received a degree in Acoustical Engineering. During his college years he was the drummer for Dropped Once, a Ska/Rocksteady band playing in and around Chicago. He moved to Los Angeles to begin a career in acoustical consulting and had the fortune of crossing paths with the members of what would eventually become Quactus.
